Travel Nurse RN - PCU - Progressive Care Unit - $2,609 per week

Job Summary Prime Staffing is seeking a travel nurse RN PCU for a position in Winston‑Salem, North Carolina. Specialty PCU – Progressive Care Unit Discipline: RN Start Date: 05/26/2026 Duration: 13 weeks Hours: 48 hours per week, 12‑hour shifts (days and nights) Employment Type: Travel Responsibilities and Work Conditions Runs more like an ICU; strong drip experience is required. Target ratios: 3:1 or 4:1. Requires floating to sister ICCU unit as needed. Weekend schedule: every other weekend. RTO after booking is not allowed; RTO up to 7 days maximum. Hospital orientation week one; travelers will attend orientation classes each day. Required Skills, Certifications, and Experience Minimum 2 years of experience. Travel experience: accepts first‑time travelers; locals accepted. Proficient with arterial lines and titrating vasoactive drips. Experience with PCU/DOU/IMC/Stepdown, telemetry, and interpretation of dysrhythmias. Management of dysrhythmias. Use of Rapid Response Teams. IV insulin protocols and blood product administration. Central line, peripheral line, and PICC line care/management. Heparin protocols, CVA, chest tubes (Emerson/Pleur‑evac), external CPAP/BIPAP, high‑flow nasal cannula. Non‑invasive airway management, tracheostomy management, isolation precautions. ACLS, BCLS, NIH certifications, and experience with IV start, telemetry, and conscious sedation. Must pass EKG testing prior to start. Unit Details and Equipment Only one pressor drip per patient; if more, patient is transferred to ICU. Pressor drips include Cardizem, Nitro, Precedex, Cardene, Levophed, Dopamine, Dobutamine, Neo drips. Bedside telemetry monitors with remote backup; no ventilators. Unit systems: Pyxis and Epic. Scrubs: navy, white, or a combination of the two. Scheduling No block scheduling. Availability: 36 or 48 hour shifts, days or nights.
