Work Environment

This position is located onsite at our school facility in Tampa, Florida, offering a community-based atmosphere that emphasizes quick and compassionate care. Key Responsibilities

• Provide comprehensive urgent care services, such as physical examinations, assessments, diagnosis, and treatment tailored to the needs of patients in a school setting.
• Order and interpret diagnostic tests, including X-rays, lab results, and EKGs, to effectively guide treatment plans.
• Skillfully triage and manage a diverse patient population efficiently, ensuring streamlined processes to minimize waiting times.
• Perform a variety of medical procedures, including but not limited to digital blocks, regional anesthesia, and minor surgical interventions—such as wound management and foreign body removal.
• Conduct diagnostic and therapeutic procedures, including joint aspirations and injections, to alleviate patient discomfort and optimize health outcomes.
• Initiate IV fluid therapy as required and execute closed reductions for simple fractures or dislocations, offering exceptional pain relief and stabilization.
• Apply and modify orthopedic appliances, such as braces and splints, to ensure proper patient care and recovery.
• Oversee daily operational tasks, manage patient callbacks, and coordinate lab result follow-ups while on shift.
• Mentor and support advanced practice clinicians, using your expertise to enhance clinical practices and improve patient care standards.

Patient Population / Client Focus

The primary focus of this role is to serve the student and faculty population at the school, addressing a wide range of medical issues from common illnesses to minor emergencies. A keen ability to communicate effectively with both children and adults is essential, as well as a commitment to providing empathetic and accessible healthcare.

Qualifications

• Minimum of a Bachelor’s Degree in Nursing with a valid RN license to practice in Florida.
• Current Nurse Practitioner (NP) licensure and national certification.
• Possess an unrestricted medical license to practice in the state of Florida.
• Have a current controlled substance license and unrestricted DEA registration.
• Proven ability to provide care across all age groups, with an understanding of pediatric needs.
• At least one year of clinical experience in an urgent care, ER, or similar healthcare setting.
• Availability to work two full weekends per month, as part of the full-time commitment.

Preferred Experience

• Experience in a school environment or with pediatric populations is highly desirable.
• Familiarity with electronic health records (EHR) systems that enhance communication and record-keeping efficiency.
• Knowledge of advanced practice protocols and discharge planning in urgent care contexts.

Compensation and Benefits

The position offers a competitive salary range of USD 140,000 – 180,000 annually, commensurate with experience and qualifications.
