Datacenter Technician (Level 2)

Overview
This long-term Datacenter Technician (Level 2) role supports the buildout and ongoing operations of production datacenters, including racks, bench-testing areas, and other critical infrastructure. The ideal candidate brings strong hands-on datacenter operations experience, advanced break/fix troubleshooting skills, and the ability to work collaboratively with network teams in a fast-paced environment.

Key Responsibilities
Level 2 Datacenter Operations

• Diagnose, troubleshoot, and isolate server issues using Linux-based tools and logical break/fix methodologies.
• Order, replace, and install server components; return defective parts to vendors.
• Perform firmware updates to ensure servers are running the latest versions.
• Configure IP addresses and default login credentials on servers.
• Support network administrators with tasks such as:
  • Replacing damaged or broken cables
  • Re-routing cables to alternate ports
  • Replacing optics on server and switch ports
  • Installing upgraded server components
• Temporarily rack, stack, and cable servers or switches to enable remote configuration by network teams.
• Provide targeted assistance to network admins requesting hands-on support.
• Perform Level 1 duties as needed, including rack/stack and deployment support.

Required Skills & Experience

• 2-3 years of hands-on Datacenter Technician experience
• Strong ability to independently troubleshoot and isolate server issues using Linux.
• Experience with rack/stack, server configuration, and datacenter hardware installation.
• Proficiency with cabling, wiring, and physical infrastructure tasks.
• Ability to collaborate effectively with network teams.

Job Type & Location
This is a Contract position based out of Hillsboro, OR.
Pay and Benefits
The pay range for this position is $35.00 - $35.00/hr.
Individual compensation offered for this position within this range will depend on many factors, including qualifications, skills, relevant experience, job knowledge, geographic location, internal equity, and other pertinent job-related factors.
