Senior MEP Estimator

POSITION SUMMARYThe Senior MEP Estimator has the primary responsibility of estimating, design/decision assisting, and trade partner procurement for vertical projects for MEP trade packages.This position is located in a geographic area where McCarthy has an office. A candidate who does not live in an area with a McCarthy office will need to relocate. If relocation is required, McCarthy offers a generous relocation package. RESPONSIBILITIESPrepare, maintain status of and review bid documents, submitting bids and estimates in a timely mannerPrepare complete, accurate quantity take-offs to build estimatesAssist with execution plans and win strategiesPrepare a thorough, detailed and well-annotated estimatePrepare a thorough, comprehensive proposal, including bid forms and supporting documentationSubcontractor & Vendor solicitation and management during preconstruction processParticipate in peer bid review and contract review for compliance with bid proposalFollow-up with prior bid projects on a weekly basis and update status at weekly estimating meetingAssist project manager if questions arise throughout the project about the estimateCultivate existing client relationships and work with Business Development in building new relationships and targeting opportunitiesParticipate in design meetings, OAC meetings and provide Design-Assist or Design Build input.QUALIFICATIONSBachelor’s degree in Engineering, Architecture or Construction Management, and/or minimum 5 years’ experience with estimating, design management and/or field management.Experience in a Mechanical (HVAC/Plumbing) and/or Electrical Preconstruction capacity with a MEP Contractor or General Contractor. Preference is experience across all MEP trades. In-depth knowledge of construction principles/practices requiredProven experience estimating mechanical (including plumbing/process) systems and complex electrical and low voltage systems.
