Patient Coordinator (Receptionist/Front Desk)

WHAT WE DO

Our patient coordinator position is more than just “front desk” or a classic “receptionist”. The Patient Coordinator is in charge of the patient experience and clinical flow–from scheduling to coordinating referrals, answering questions about everything under the sun, making sure the clinic is a pleasant place to be, and learning about anything and everything. In order to be really great at this position, you kind of have to know everything. If that’s exciting to you, read on!! Experience in customer service or working with people is pretty nice to have, but no previous scheduling or clinical experience is required! We’re looking for someone who is eager to learn and grow, whether you’re starting a new career or building on previous skills. Patient Coordinators do a bit of everything. In a nut-shell, they guide the patient experience from start to finish. Obviously, reaching out to overdue patients, scheduling, appointment reminders, checking in, and checking out after the exam are a big part of the day. But no two days are alike in the PC world! Explaining insurance and billing answers, discussing contact lens options & differences, triaging people with frightening optical symptoms and getting them care when they need it, explaining about glasses and frames, and 85 other things (and that’s just a Tuesday!).
