Our District has one early learning center, 15 elementary schools, five middle schools and a high school program divided between two 9 12th grade campuses. The District encompasses portions of Waukegan, Beach Park and Park City. Organizational Relationship: The English Language Learners Program Assessment and Data Specialist is directly responsible to the Director of English Language Learners Programs; and indirectly responsible to the Director of Student Support Services and the Managers of Bilingual Student Data and Assessment. Essential Duties and Responsibilities:

1. To perform the secretarial and record-keeping functions necessary for the effective functioning of the office of Bilingual Student Data and Assessment and the English Language Learner Department.
2. Welcome, assist, and translate (if necessary) parents/guardians with the registration process. 3. Assist parents/guardians with completing the Home Language Survey (Grades Pre-k to 12) 4. Assist parents/guardians with completing refusal forms after they meet with Bilingual Assessors.

1. Enter and file the language forms and refusal forms as needed.
2. Set up language testing appointments for students via the district appointment system.7. Answer questions district staff may have regarding testing, language assessment, placement,and disseminate information requested.

1. Assist with testing packets & inventory of tests throughout the year
2. Make binders and files as necessary.
3. Make bilingual folders for all new PK-12 students in the bilingual program.11. Deliver packets/memos/bilingual folders to schools as needed.

1. Assist with mailing projects for the program - file and send out documents as necessary forthese projects.
2. Keep an inventory of language assessment material and forms throughout the year. 14.Request Access Language Scores from previous schools and/or review the related state student information.

1. Review previous English Language Learner student data/records to ensure the district's student information system contains the most up-to-date information.
2. Data entry for language assessments and placement in the student information system; Pre-IPT for PK, WIDA Screener for K -12th grade, Program Services, and Flags.17.Assist with updating and maintaining the Student Support Services Center Registrationspreadsheets for ELL Data pertaining to their role.

1. Assist with reviewing reports for the end of year, language of instruction, placement, statereports, class lists, OCR, etc.
2. Hold all confidential information in a state of trust at all times, maintain a professional andcordial relationship with staff, parents, and the general public.
3. Perform other job-related duties for which he/she has been trained, as assigned by the Director of English Language Learners Program, Director of Student Support Service and the Managers of Bilingual Students Data and Assessment.

Qualifications:

1. Must have a high school diploma or equivalent.
2. Commitment to the belief that all children, regardless of circumstances, can achieve at highlevels.
3. Good communication, organizational, computer, and interpersonal skills required.4. Demonstrated ability to work with data in multiple computer environments, including but notlimited to: Windows based PC's, district-wide networked systems, including the StudentInformation System (SIS) and Financial Management System (FMS) and Google systems.5. Effective and efficient word processing skills with knowledge of Microsoft Office suite ofprograms.

1. Demonstrated ability to multitask effectively and prioritize strategically.
2. Ability to care for minute details and editing skills to ensure reliable and accurate results,verifying information for accuracy.
3. Ability to do record keeping, prioritize, and work independently with minimal supervision andfollow oral and written instructions.
4. Successfully work in a collaborative environment.
5. Ability to interact in a positive manner with students, staff, parents, outside agencies, andcentral services staff.
6. Ability to plan, organize, schedule, and manage documents in a timely and effective manner.

Work Environment: Busy office environment with multiple priorities and frequent interruptions.
