Mortgage Sales Support Specialist

General Summary:

The Mortgage Sales Support Specialist works closely in collaboration with the Mortgage Loan Originators, assisting in communication with all parties in the mortgage transaction during the life cycle of the loan, conducting the consultative interview, and assisting with borrower qualification. This role is additionally responsible for managing the interest rate lock functions and preparing all required disclosures and redisclosures with accuracy and within required regulatory time frames.


This is not a remote position. It requires collaborative office work in Muscle Shoals, AL for 40 hours a week.


Essential Functions:

• Assists the Mortgage Loan Originators with application data entry, problem solving, and reviewing loan application for completeness and accuracy;
• Reviews the customer's initial application and works alongside the Mortgage Loan Originator for the consultative interview;
• Obtains and images documents as needed;
• Communicates with customers regarding file status and information or documentation needed for the loan;
• Serves as the primary contact for all matters related to loan pricing, rate locks, extensions, cancellations, and changes to lock confirmations
• Prepares and delivers loan estimates, initial disclosure packages, and redisclosures in compliance with TRID timelines
• Responsible for locking, relocking, canceling, and extending rates on all loans
• Manages the lock loan pipeline to ensure lock expiration dates are communicated to the necessary parties and expiration dates are met
• Performs tasks related to file setup and pre-processing including gathering preliminary documentation as needed, updating data in the URLA, submitting grant applications, following up on home inspections and signed disclosures, ordering the flood, appraisal and title commitment and assigning files to the processing queue
• Provides pipeline management support to the Mortgage Loan Originators to ensure timely and proper action is taken;
• Provides status updates to Realtors and Builders as requested by the Mortgage Loan Originator;
• Partners and communicates with the Mortgage Operations team regarding specific file needs;
• Performs portfolio management duties as needed for some bank-serviced loans originated in Mortgage
• Assists with Mortgage Sales activities, events, and general marketing needs.

Minimum Level of Preparation and Training

• High School Diploma required;
• Bachelor's Degree highly preferred;
• Previous experience in the Mortgage industry is highly preferred.
