Non-Equity Partner - Defense/Transactional (Portable Book)

A growing, multi-office litigation and transactional firm is adding a Non-Equity Partner to its Santa Monica office. This is an open mandate — we're looking for a strong lateral partner in any Defense or Transactional practice area, not a specific niche. You’ll bring your own book of business and run it with full firm support: an in-house marketing and PR team dedicated to growing partner books, a flexible hybrid schedule, and the option to bring an associate or paralegal with you if you have one. Solo practitioners are welcome to apply. Full in-house marketing/PR team actively working to grow your book, not just your existing clients Open practice mandate — Defense or Transactional, any specialty considered Bring your team: associates and paralegals can come with you Negotiable origination structure Quarterly (not just annual) performance bonuses for partners Prime Santa Monica office with a flexible, hybrid-friendly culture — in office time encouraged but not rigid Backed by a firm with offices across multiple U.S. markets and an established, high-profile client base
QUALIFICATIONS/REQUIREMENTS
Active state bar license in good standing Portable book of business of $500,000+ Defense or Transactional practice background (any specialty) Comfortable managing client relationships independently; prior book-building experience a plusCOMPENSATION RANGE
