System AdministratorMasTec Communications Group is a leading national infrastructure construction company operating throughout the United States. We are seeking a skilled and proactive System Administrator with expertise in Red Hat Enterprise Linux (RHEL), VMware ESXi virtualization, automation scripting, and foundational networking.Responsibilities As a System Administrator, you will be responsible for maintaining, securing, and optimizing our Linux-based infrastructure while supporting virtualized environments and ensuring reliable system performance and connectivity. In addition, you will:Install, configure, and maintain RHEL systems across physical and virtual environmentsAdminister VMware ESXi hosts and vSphere environmentsDevelop and maintain automation workflows for RHEL systems using tools such as Ansible, Bash, and Python to enhance system reliability and operational efficiencyAutomate network infrastructure tasks using Ansible, Python, NETCONF/YANG, and CLI scriptingCreate scripts and utilize APIs to integrate systems and extract actionable data for cross-functional automation and reportingMonitor system performance and ensure availability and reliabilityApply OS patches and upgrades regularly; update administrative tools and utilitiesTroubleshoot hardware, software, and network issues in a timely mannerImplement and enforce system security policies and proceduresMaintain comprehensive documentation for system configurations, procedures, and troubleshootingCollaborate with network and security teams to ensure seamless integration and complianceConfigure and maintain BIND DNS and KEA DHCPUnderstanding of enterprise backup solutionsParticipate in on-call rotation and respond to incidents as requiredPerform other duties as assigned by managementQualifications About You:Proven experience as a Linux System Administrator, preferably with RHELHands-on experience with VMware ESXi and vSphereBasic understanding of networking concepts (TCP/IP, DNS, DHCP, VLANs, firewalls)Proficiency in scripting languages such as Bash and Python for automationStrong problem-solving and communication skillsAbility to work independently and as part of a teamYou are Red Hat Certified System Administrator (RHCSA) or higherYou have a VMware Certified Professional (VCP) certificationExperience with configuration management tools (e.g., Ansible, Puppet)Familiarity with Docker containersExposure to cloud platforms (AWS, Azure) is a plusMust have, or be able to obtain, and maintain a valid New Mexico state driver's license, have an excellent driving record and be insurable under the Company's insurance policyMasTec, Inc. is an equal employment opportunity employer.
