Department Family Medicine - Fraser 15717 15 Mile Rd Clinton Township, MI 48035 Work Schedule Full-Time (40 Hours Per Week) Days Role Overview : As a Medical Assistant, you play a vital role in delivering compassionate and quality patient care. You will support providers and nursing leadership by performing a variety of administrative and clinical tasks, ensuring a seamless and positive patient experience. What You Will Do : Greet and escort patients to the exam room, ensuring a welcoming environment. Obtain and record accurate medical histories from patients. Measure and document vital signs, contributing to patient assessments. Prepare patients for examinations and procedures, ensuring comfort and readiness. Assist providers during examinations and procedures, facilitating efficient care delivery. What You Will Need : Required Qualifications : High school diploma or G.E.D. equivalent. Graduate of a Medical Assistant program with completion of a formal clinical externship (160-hour minimum), OR Graduate from a Medical Assistant program without completion of a clinical externship but with a minimum one-year experience in clinical medical assisting within the past five (5) years, OR Current Professionally Recognized Medical Assistant Certification with a minimum of one year of experience in clinical medical assisting, OR Licensed Practical Nurse (LPN), OR Licensed Paramedic/Emergency Medical Technician (EMT) with at least one-year clinical experience in a clinical medical setting within the past five (5) years, OR Military trained medical personnel with at least one-year clinical experience in a clinical medical setting within the past five (5) years. Current BLS-C upon hire or successful completion by the end of orientation. Preferred Qualifications : Basic computer knowledge and keyboarding skills. EPIC (Electronic Medical Record) experience. Additional Requirements: • Graduate of a Medical Assistant program with completion of a formal clinical externship (160 hour minimum). CERTIFICATIONS/LICENSURES REQUIRED: Current BLS-C upon hire or successful completion by end of orientation. Additional Information Must have previous family medicine experience. Experience in phlebotomy, medication/immunization administration, POC testing, blood pressure measurement. Able to multitask and be self-sufficient. Is self-motivated and works well with his/her team in a fast-paced environment. Able to work late night and alternating Saturday hours.
