Shift: 7:00 PM - 7:30 AM

Experience:

• 24 months of experience with 3 months worked in the last 12 months.

• 24 months of Medical Surgical Unit experience with 12 months worked in the last 3 years.

• Experience with Epic is required.

Requirements:

• Candidates must have a West Virginia license or compact license (required after submission).

• This role may require floating to additional units and locations

• Travel only, local not allowed. Candidates must live >50 miles from facility to be submitted.

• COVID vaccination required after submission. Religious and medical declinations accepted.

• 24 months gap required between for Staff at Program: Medical Solutions Plus Program - WVU Medicine and no current placement allowed at Program: Medical Solutions Plus Program - WVU Medicine.

• 24 months gap required between for Travel at Program: Medical Solutions Plus Program - WVU Medicine and no current placement allowed at Program: Medical Solutions Plus Program - WVU Medicine.

Additional Details:

Artificial nails are not allowed for any travelers. Failure to adhere could result in being sent home and/or terminated if policy is not followed.

Required Skills/Experience: Overall strong neuro experience. Proficiency and frequency with G-tubes.

Special Requests: If candidate worked a perm facility in the last 12 months, 1 reference must be from perm facility. Eligibility as Current/Previous Employee: cumulative experience applies for previous travelers. At least one reference must be from the same unit/specialty as the job you’re applying to.

Unit Details: Neurosciences, DBS (Deep Brain Stimulators), stroke, seizures, surgical/post-op spines, and neurological disorders. May care for floor vents; RT is available 24/7, vents are managed by RT and the physician, and RN vent experience is not required. Telemetry unit; RNs do not read strips and document verification of the monitor tech’s strip reading in Epic. Charge nurse on the unit 24/7.

Shift & Scheduling: Weekend nightshift: Friday/Saturday/Sunday or Saturday/Sunday/Monday. Holidays as needed. Three shifts in a row may be allowed but are not guaranteed; travelers need to be flexible.

Floating Requirements: Possibly to 7E, 7W, 7NE, or 10E first priority. Then offered to the rest of the hospital if needed.

14 days maximum time off

1 Charge/Lead reference required from within the last 2 years

Driver’s license required for submission
