Job DescriptionMortenson is currently seeking a Craft Carpenter that will be responsible for the construction and repair of wood and wallboard fixtures in compliance with local building codes and general construction principals.ResponsibilitiesSet up trailersStudy blueprints, sketches, or building plans to determine material requirements and measure dimensionsBuild decks, stairs, roofs, and other temporary structures; install shelves, setup tool trailers/conex's, silt fences/straw bales, and setup site per erosion control planHand-set forms and assemble gang formsAssist journeyman and foreman with shooting grades and elevationsUnload, handle, stockpile, and erect prefabricated materialsPerform concrete and rough carpentry (hand set walls, footings, gang wall forms, structural concrete decks, drywall, finish carpentry, doors, frames, hardware, millwork, and cabinetry)Build relationships with individuals of diverse backgrounds and organizational levels; perform all other duties as assignedQualificationsHigh school diploma or GEDMinimum of two (2) years carpentry experienceTrade or technical school certification/diploma preferredAbility to work with precision, visualize solid objects from drawings, and speak and understand EnglishStrong teamwork orientation, positive attitude, professional customer service skills, detail orientation, and effective communication including active listening and openness to diverse input and feedbackRepetitive hand, arm, leg movements*Lifting, carrying, pushing, or pulling: up to 50 lbs.Please note: this position description is not intended to be a comprehensive list of the duties and responsibilities of the position.
