Director of Human ResourcesThe Director of Human Resources will serve as the senior leader overseeing the daily operations while consistently providing leadership, legal compliance and strategic planning to support the employees and their performance.Job Duties & ResponsibilitiesBuild and maintain collaborative partnerships with internal and external customers to ensure that goals and objectives are clearly defined, documented, communicated, implemented and executed.Lead and/or participates in strategic HR meetings to review, evaluate, and/or propose new HR strategies through the implementation/enhancement of operational or functional solutions, which are intended to improve customer relationships, operating efficiencies, and/or add business benefits.Oversight of the hiring process, on-boarding/employment, fringe benefits, performance evaluations, Staff Development/Training, disciplinary actions, and terminationsManage Wage & Salary Programs effectively and efficientlyReview employment contracts and make corrections as neededReview and update all employment handbooks for accuracyProvide training to all subordinates and indirectly to the EEO OfficeEnsure compliance with federal, state, University of Louisiana System rules and regulations, and University policies and proceduresAssist University Supervisors with policy interpretations and employee relations mattersEnsure maintenance of Human Resource records as required by applicable laws, rules, and regulationsReview and supervise the collection and preparation of reports and statistical dataManage regular HR Communications to the Staffing CommunityQualificationsMinimum:Bachelor's degree in Human Resources or business degreeFive to seven years of proven career progression, substantial supervisory experience, in a complex and public regulated Office of Human Resources within a higher education environmentExperience with Ellucian Banner HR softwareSubstantial experience with EEOC compliance and Employee RelationsMust be committed to equal opportunity, and demonstrate ability to maintain effective and collaborative working relations with internal and external constituents, contractors, and community partnersHandle confidential matters professionally and exude the appropriate level of discretionSound judgment and maturityEffective interpersonal, organizational, and communication skillsWorking knowledge of Excel, PowerPoint, Access, and Microsoft WordThe ability to work effectively with campus and system administrators and diverse campus constituenciesA strong commitment to a welcoming, diverse, and inclusive environmentPreferred:Master's degree with seven to ten years of experience, with a strong understanding of all HR functions and proven experience in driving a strategic workforce plan, with a SHRM-CP or SHRM-SCP certification.Supplemental InformationApplications without the following will not be considered complete.Cover LetterResumeTranscript(s) if applicableCurriculum Vitae if applicableReview of applicants will begin May 12th, 2026 and will continue until position is filled.BenefitsWe offer a complete benefits package to eligible employees including health care, dental, vision, retirement, flexible spending accounts, life insurance, long-term disability, short-term disability, holidays, annual, and sick leave.
