Job Title: Assembler Job Description

We are looking for a dedicated assembler to join our team. The role involves assembling components and attachments, following detailed instructions, and utilizing hand and power tools. Candidates should have a strong attention to detail and be capable of standing for extended periods and lifting heavy items. Additional duties include visual inspection of parts prior to assembly, preparation of jobs, checking part availability on computers, obtaining parts from inventory, and using assembly tooling designed for assigned cells.

Responsibilities

• Assemble sub-assemblies and finished goods using specified work instructions.

• Apply Loctite, grease, epoxy, and other materials as required.

• Follow special handling instructions for product assembly.

• Thoroughly clean and prepare product surfaces for labeling using acetone.

• Apply proper labeling to finished products.

• Maintain and clean the work area, including trash removal and cleaning surfaces.

• Rework failed products as necessary.

Essential Skills

• Experience with hand and power tools.

• Strong attention to detail.

• Ability to lift 50+ lbs.

Additional Skills & Qualifications

• Experience in assembly and manufacturing environments.

• Mechanical assembly and production experience.

• Ability to stand for 8+ hours.

Work Environment

Our facility manufactures crucial connections and attachments for first responders, along with monitors for fire trucks to filter out carcinogens. The environment is clean and well-organized, though not temperature controlled, so it can be warm in the summer and cold in the winter. Employees can wear knee-length shorts. Safety toe shoes are required, and training is provided. The work hours are flexible with mandatory overtime and optional weekend shifts.

Job Type & Location

This is a Contract to Hire position based out of Valparaiso, IN.

Pay and Benefits

The pay range for this position is $17.00 - $19.00/hr.

Individual compensation offered for this position within this range will depend on many factors, including qualifications, skills, relevant experience, job knowledge, geographic location, internal equity, and other pertinent job-related factors.
