Maimonides is an affiliate of Northwell Health and a major clinical training site for SUNY Downstate College of Medicine. OverviewWe are currently recruiting for an open attending faculty position in Hematology/Oncology at the Maimonides Cancer Center. We have particular needs in the areas of hematology (benign and malignant), gynecologic and genitourinary oncology, as well as sarcoma. We currently have an active practice group of 9 full time faculty, all of whom subspecialize in 2-3 disease sites. Call and consult weeks are shared among all of the faculty. Our Cancer Center comprises a 30-chair infusion unit, pediatric oncology and state-of-the-art radiation oncology all at the same location. Our fellowship program, consisting of 3 fellows per year, provides ample opportunities for teaching, and we have an experienced research team available for clinical trials support. We have multidisciplinary tumor boards in all areas of oncology with participation of surgeons, pathologists and radiologists.ResponsibilitiesOut of fellowship or practicing MD/DOGraduate from an accredited medical schoolGraduate from an accredited Internal Medicine Residency ProgramAmerican Board of Internal Medicine certification in Internal MedicineBoard certified/Board eligible in specialty area; Board eligible physicians are required to sit for and pass their Board examinations at the earliest date possible.Evidence of formal, supervised training or clinical experience as required for certain proceduresLeads Malignant and Benign Hematology multidisciplinary conferencesOversees the development and implementation of clinical protocols for optimal treatment of benign and malignant hematologic conditionsParticipates ln monthly K6 meetings to address clinical and operational challenges of inpatient hematologic care and promote effective transitions be twee n in- patient and outpatient careAssesses and monitors new diagnostic and therapeutic options available for Hematology patients and make recommendations on their adoption and implementation within the divisionProvides clinical leaders hip for the Benign Hematology Advanced Practice Provider Program to ensure clinical quality and patient satisfaction. Identifies areas for program growth and promotes community aware ness of the servicesWorks with the Chief of the Division and the Fellowship Program Director to establish and maintain high-quality Hematology education for residents and followsIdentifies and supports clinical trial and research priorities in Hematology for the DivisionQualificationsValid and unlimited license to practice medicine in the State of New YorkValid license to prescribe controlled substances.ACLS/BCLS CertificationValid DEA CertificationDemonstrated experience in area of specialty as set forth in credentialing requirements for that specialty.Excellent English written and verbal communication skillsPay RangeUSD $450,000.00 - USD $650,000.00 /Yr.
