Public Relations Associate – Consumer Lifestyle Job Location: New York, NY Job Requirements: Blue Engine ( a creative communications agency, is seeking an pop culture-obsessed associate to join its growing consumer lifestyle public relations practice. The creative communications arm of ICR (named the “fastest growing public relations firm” by O'Dwyers), Blue Engine embodies a fresh and energetic approach to brand strategy and storytelling. The agency offers a comprehensive suite of services across the consumer lifestyle space, including public relations, strategic partnerships, events + experiences, influencer + digital marketing, social media and more. This highly-motivated associate will provide support for an exciting range of clients in the restaurants, food + beverage and hospitality categories, among others. A penchant for pop culture, savviness for societal happenings and an uncanny ability to forecast and foresee all-things famously trending, this individual will be entrusted with supporting account teams across a wide breadth of service needs, such as lifestyle media relations, event production and management, partnership activations and campaign execution. Candidates who work, have worked in or have hands-on experience with clients in service sectors – hotels, retail, restaurants, et al – will be prioritized for consideration. Responsibilities General account support Compiling daily media monitoring and trend reports Conducting research to support campaign creation, spokesperson identification, event vendor selection, etc. Media relations activities, including maintaining knowledge and key understanding of and engagement with lifestyle publications Press release development and other writing responsibilities Maintain an understanding of clients’ businesses, industries and issues that directly and indirectly affect those clients Event support Qualifications Relevant agency experience (ideally 1 – 2 years), with strong working knowledge of evolving lifestyle media and pop culture landscapes (a true afficionado) Strong writing ability Organizational and people skills Event planning and production experience Ability to handle multiple assignments and manage time in an organized manner while ensuring deadlines are not just met, but exceeded A proven understanding of and affinity for digital tools and media platforms Fluency in Microsoft Office Suite, Cision and Muck Rack (or related PR software) B.S/B.A required; concentration in public relations, marketing, journalism, communications or related field preferred About Blue Engine Blue Engine is a creative communications agency that taps every resource at its disposal to drive your brand forward.
