New to State candidates will be hired into the minimum salary of the classification or minimum of alternate range when applicable. # of Positions: 1 Work Location: Sacramento County Telework: Hybrid Job Type: Permanent, Full Time Department Information Utility Audits, Risk & Compliance(UARCD)/Utility Audits Branch (UAB) Department Website: Job Description And Duties Program Manager Under the general direction of the Assistant Director, the Program Manager (PM) is responsible for planning, organizing, and managing the work of the Utility Audits Branch (UAB) and reports to the Assistant Director of the Utility Audits, Risk and Compliance Division (UARCD). The PM provides leadership within the Division by establishing strategic direction for Program and Project Supervisors, as well as analysts. The PM coordinates the Branch's work with other Branches, Sections, and Commission divisions, as needed, and actively participates as a member of UARCD's management team. The PM's primary responsibilities include providing leadership and strategic direction for Branch activities; directing Branch operations, including determining staffing needs and resource allocation; reviewing work products to ensure quality and consistency with established policies and procedures; overseeing staff development and performance management, including training, hiring, promotions, performance evaluations, and discipline; and performing general administrative duties for the Branch and the Division. The incumbent will incorporate diversity, equity, and inclusion principles into policy and procedure analysis, stakeholder engagement, and internal processes. The position requires excellent verbal and written communication skills, strong analytical abilities, and the ability to work effectively both independently and in a team environment. The incumbent must also be able to coordinate and participate in multiple projects simultaneously. Travel is required for this position.
