Food Service Worker - Split Shift

Wage Rate $20.75/hour Job Summary The Food Service Supervisor is responsible for supervising inmate labor and team members in a correctional facility, ensuring safe, efficient food preparation and service in accordance with scheduled meals and institutional policies. Core Responsibilities Supervise inmate labor and/or team members in the kitchen during food prep and food service shifts. Prepare, assist, or instruct staff in the preparation of quality foods according to the menu, recipes, and work instructions. Ensure food is stored properly and in a sanitary manner. Serve food during scheduled meal times and according to department policies. Obtain and use kitchen utensils/equipment to cook, prepare, and serve food according to recipes. Follow all food safety regulations pertaining to sanitation, food handling, and storage. Train other food service workers. Maintain a clean work area, including cleaning refrigerators, freezers, cooking and serving equipment. Follow facility uniform policy. Keep up with garbage collection and maintain kitchen cleanliness. Ensure the kitchen is ready for food prep/serving, including sweeping, mopping, and dishwashing. Review proper portions and utensils for service. Promote a healthy and safe work environment for coworkers and inmates. Perform physical demands such as lifting, bending, pushing, kneeling, walking, and standing for extended periods. Stand and be on feet for a large portion of the shift. Perform other related duties as assigned. Qualifications High School Diploma or Equivalent; must be at least 18 years of age. Prior institutional food service or restaurant experience is preferred.
