Mechanical Engineer

SMMA has an opportunity for a Mechanical Engineer with 5+ years of experience. This position offers the ability to lead a range of multiple design project types and requires a good balance of leadership, technical, communication, and organizational skills.Our Engineering team is a part of an integrated, multi-disciplinary design firm with a dynamic mix of architects and engineers. We pride ourselves on having a culture that promotes a balanced life/work approach.Key Responsibilities:Lead projects from concept design through construction administration in a range of project typesDemonstrate experience with a range of system types and ability to support technical discussionsPrepare HVAC drawings utilizing Autodesk Revit Building Information Modelling (BIM) SoftwareConduct construction site visits and review construction administration submittalsGuide and mentor junior team members throughout project design phasesQualifications:5-7 years of experience in HVAC systems design and leading projectsRegistration as a Professional Engineer preferredKnowledge of Revit, AutoCAD, Excel, Load Calculation programs and MS OfficeEffective communication skills, both verbal and writtenAbility to conduct visits to active construction sites and climb ladders.About SMMA For more than 70 years, SMMA has integrated architecture, engineering, interior design, and planning to turn complex design challenges into refined, unexpected solutions.
