Clinical Preceptor / EMS Program Support - UAF CTC

Join the UAF Community & Technical College EMS team and help prepare Alaska’s next generation of paramedics. We are seeking an experienced is seeking a Paramedic Clinical Preceptor / EMS Program Support professional to provide clinical supervision, coaching, and evaluation of paramedic students. When not assigned to clinical rotations, this position supports EMS laboratory and simulation instruction, student skills development, equipment and supply readiness, and other program activities. This position offers the opportunity to directly influence student success while helping strengthen paramedic education in Alaska.

This position is part of UAF Community & Technical College’s Emergency Medical Services/Paramedicine Program and serves as a key connection between classroom education, laboratory instruction, and clinical experience. The primary responsibility is supervising and supporting paramedic students during clinical rotations, including providing real-time instruction, constructive feedback, evaluation, and assistance in meeting required clinical competencies. When clinical rotations are not scheduled, the position supports EMS laboratory instruction, simulation, student remediation, instructional preparation, and equipment and supply readiness.

To thrive in this role, you should be an experienced and confident Paramedic who enjoys teaching, mentoring, and helping students develop their clinical skills and professional judgment. Successful candidates will be able to provide clear and constructive feedback, adapt to changing clinical and program needs, and communicate effectively with students, faculty, and healthcare professionals. Strong organizational skills, sound clinical judgment, professionalism, and a commitment to student and patient safety are essential.

Minimum Qualifications:

Three years college coursework and three years progressively responsible experience related to the program specialty, or an equivalent combination of training and experience.

- Current National Registry Paramedic certification and Alaska Paramedic licensure, or ability to obtain required licensure.
- Current BLS certification; ACLS and PALS certification or equivalent as required.

Additional Qualifications:
- Demonstrated paramedic clinical competency and sound patient-care judgment.
- Ability to teach, supervise, evaluate, and provide constructive feedback to adult learners.
- Ability to work effectively in clinical, laboratory, classroom, and simulation environments.
- Effective communication, organizational, interpersonal, and technology skills.

Position Details:

This position required on-site work, based at the University of Alaska Fairbanks Community and Technical College. This is a full-time, non-exempt staff position complete with both a competitive salary and  full employee benefits package . UA provides a generous compensation package that includes retirement options, annual leave, 12 paid holidays per year, tuition waivers for employees and family members, and affordable medical, dental and vision care coverage. New hires will be placed on the  UA Staff Salary Schedule , Grade 79, based on education and experience.
