Filling Set-up Sr. Technician, Operations - Onsite

Merck seeks a Senior Technician for sterile pharmaceutical filling operations at its Rahway, NJ facility. The role involves hands-on setup, execution, and troubleshooting of filling equipment in a GMP-regulated environment, supporting drug product development and clinical manufacturing.

Responsibilities

• Set up, changeover, and test filling equipment for various container sizes and configurations
• Perform sterile filling operations in compliance with GMP procedures and SOPs
• Conduct routine mechanical and electrical adjustments to ensure equipment reliability
• Maintain accurate GMP documentation and batch records in electronic systems
• Collaborate with production, quality, engineering, and EHS teams on continuous improvement initiatives

Requirements

• High school diploma/GED or associate degree in applied science or related field
• Minimum 2 years technician experience in manufacturing, military, automotive, aviation, or industrial setting
• Proficiency with complex automated equipment, HMI systems, and PLC interfaces
• Knowledge of aseptic processing and ability to work in Grade A isolators and Grade C cleanrooms
• Strong written and verbal communication skills and computer literacy (Microsoft Office, SAP)
• Ability to lift 50 lbs and perform cleanroom gowning including respirator use
