Key Responsibilities

• Conduct comprehensive patient assessments, focusing on physical exams and health evaluations tailored to the unique needs of school-aged children and adolescents.
• Diagnose and manage both acute and chronic health conditions, working collaboratively with the existing healthcare team for optimal patient outcomes.
• Develop, implement, and modify individualized treatment plans, including the safe prescription of medications as permitted by state regulations.
• Monitor progress of students’ health statuses, adjusting care plans as necessary and ensuring continuity of care.
• Educate students and their families on health management practices, treatment options, medication compliance, and preventive care strategies.
• Maintain accurate and up-to-date electronic health records in compliance with HIPAA regulations, ensuring confidentiality and security of health information.
• Coordinate with multidisciplinary teams, including teachers and school counselors, to ensure comprehensive care that addresses social determinants of health.

Patient Population / Client Focus

Our Nurse Practitioner will primarily serve students in the school setting, addressing a wide range of healthcare concerns including acute illnesses, chronic conditions, mental health issues, and health promotion. You will play an instrumental role in fostering a healthy school environment by addressing the unique healthcare needs of children and adolescents, ensuring they are equipped to participate fully in their educational experiences.

Qualifications

• A valid and active Nurse Practitioner (NP) license in the state of Florida.
• A Bachelor’s Degree in Nursing, coupled with a Master of Science in Nursing (MSN) focused on Nurse Practitioner studies.
• Board certification as a Family Nurse Practitioner (FNP), Adult Nurse Practitioner (ANP), or Psychiatric-Mental Health Nurse Practitioner (PMHNP).
• Possession of a DEA license and NPI number for prescription authority.
• Holding a Florida Board of Pharmacy license.
• Strong foundational knowledge of pediatric health issues and family dynamics in a school environment.

Preferred Experience

• A minimum of two years’ experience as a Nurse Practitioner in outpatient, hospital, or primary care settings is preferred, particularly with pediatric populations.
• Experience working collaboratively within a multidisciplinary team effectively to provide comprehensive care.

Compensation and Benefits

The position offers an annual compensation range of $120,000 - $130,000, complemented by a robust benefits package that includes health insurance, paid time off, retirement plans, and opportunities for continuing education.
