Sterile Compounding Pharmacy Technician

DeWitt, NY | On-Site
Monday–Friday, 8:30 AM–5:00 PM
$18.50–$25.00/hour, depending on experience

Are you an experienced Pharmacy Technician who takes pride in precision, patient safety, and doing things the right way?

We are seeking a Sterile Compounding Pharmacy Technician to join a growing specialty infusion pharmacy team in DeWitt, NY. This is an excellent opportunity for someone with sterile compounding experience who enjoys working in a highly organized, patient-focused environment.

This is a full-time, Monday–Friday daytime position with no traditional retail pharmacy environment.

What You'll Do

In this role, you'll be cross-trained to support sterile compounding as well as pharmacy fulfillment, inventory, and delivery coordination.

Sterile Compounding

• Prepare compounded sterile medications using proper aseptic technique
• Follow USP <797> requirements, pharmacy procedures, and safety standards
• Accurately prepare, label, and document sterile preparations
• Follow proper hand hygiene, garbing, and cleanroom procedures
• Maintain cleanroom cleanliness and organization
• Complete required daily, weekly, and monthly cleaning and disinfection
• Assist with environmental monitoring, equipment checks, and quality-control activities

Pharmacy Fulfillment & Delivery

• Pick, pack, and stage patient medication orders accurately
• Verify products, labels, packaging, and required documentation
• Prepare orders and delivery manifests for dispatch
• Help coordinate deliveries with patients, couriers, and delivery personnel
• Ensure medications and supplies are prepared for timely patient delivery

Inventory & Pharmacy Support

• Receive and verify incoming pharmacy inventory
• Restock cleanroom and production supplies
• Rotate inventory and maintain organized storage areas
• Monitor inventory levels and communicate shortages or discrepancies
• Assist with cycle counts and physical inventory
• Support general pharmacy and warehouse operations as needed

What We're Looking For

Required:

• High school diploma or equivalent
• Pharmacy Technician registration or credentials as required by New York State
• Working knowledge of USP <797> sterile compounding standards
• Strong attention to detail and ability to follow precise procedures
• Basic computer skills
• Dependable, organized, and comfortable working in a regulated environment
• Strong communication and teamwork skills

Preferred:

• Pharmacy Technician certification
• Previous sterile compounding experience
• IV, home infusion, specialty pharmacy, or hospital pharmacy experience
• Experience with pharmacy inventory, fulfillment, or medication delivery workflows
