Description

American Traveler is seeking an experienced RN for a Med/Tele unit position working night shifts (7P–7A) in the Denver, CO area, with telemetry monitoring experience and a minimum of 2 years of clinical experience required.

Details

• Located on a 33-bed Med/Tele unit (up to 49 patients, including some semi-private rooms) within a hospital setting
• Specializes in caring for surgical flap patients, spinal cord injury (SCI) patients with stage 4 wounds requiring surgical intervention, and low-acuity burn patients in partnership with the burn unit
• Patient ratio is 4:1 on day shift and 5:1 on night shift
• Telemetry monitoring equipment is used on the unit
• EMR system is Meditech
• Night shift schedule: 7:00 PM – 7:00 AM (19:00–07:00)
• 13-week contract

Requirements

• Active CO RN license or a Compact RN license currently in hand
• Current BLS certification (AHA or ARC accepted; must not expire within the first 30 days of the start date)
• Minimum 2 years of clinical experience in the specialty
• At least 1 year of recent acute care hospital Med/Surg experience required
• No gaps in work history of 90 days or more within the past 12 months
• US SSN and DOB required for consideration — no exceptions
• One professional reference required

Additional Information

• Provides care for a specialty patient population including SCI patients with complex wounds, surgical flap patients, and low-acuity burn patients
• Common procedures include wound care, bowel program management, and light burn care
• ACLS certification is preferred
• Experience with spinal cord injury (SCI) patients is preferred
• Candidates must reside more than 50 miles from the facility — local candidates are not eligible
• The unit is a fast-paced medical floor; candidates who thrive in a busy environment and prioritize hands-on patient care are encouraged to apply
