Job Summary

This is a travel/contract allied health position for an Ultrasound Technologist specializing in Maternal Fetal Medicine (MFM), supporting perinatal scanning for high-risk pregnancies. The unit requires someone with MFM scanning experience, including Level 2 detailed anatomies, early anatomies, growth, BPP, Dopplers, NT, TV, and fetal echo. The unit performs all level two detailed anatomies, with a patient population that includes diagnoses such as chronic hypertension, gestational diabetes mellitus (GDM), growth restriction, and fetal abnormalities. The patient age group served is adolescents and adults.

Key Responsibilities

• Perform perinatal scanning for high-risk pregnancies
• Conduct Level 2 detailed anatomical surveys, early anatomies, growth studies, biophysical profiles (BPP), Dopplers, nuchal translucency (NT), transvaginal (TV) scans, and fetal echo
• Utilize EPIC electronic health record system for documentation and patient management
• Operate client-provided equipment in an outpatient setting
• Accommodate flexible orientation scheduling; travelers may start on Wednesday, Thursday, or Friday of the first week and must be fully available with no other commitments to accommodate any schedule changes

• Will not accept first-time travelers (clinic will not accept 1st time travelers; screen if first-time traveler but with more than 2 years of experience)

Required Experience

• Minimum 2 years of experience required
• Traveler experience required; clinic will not accept first-time travelers (screen if first-time traveler but with more than 2 years of experience)
• MFM scanning experience required

Important Notes

• RTO (Return to Origin) after booking is NOT allowed and is NOT allowed to be worked out onsite. Any call-offs or additional RTO on unit could possibly result in a contract cancellation and DNR (Do Not Rehire).
• RTO: 7 days maximum for AYA Auto Offer.
• The expected start date is based on the facility's schedule but is subject to change depending on class and trainer availability. Travelers may start on Wednesday, Thursday, or Friday of the first week, and must be fully available with no other commitments to accommodate any schedule changes. Missing any portion of orientation may result in a delayed or canceled start.
• The facility will confirm the final start date on the Tuesday prior to the start week.

The facility employs allied health professionals including ultrasound technologists, radiology and cardiology techs, and maternal fetal medicine specialists who collaborate in a structured, high-acuity outpatient and clinical environment. The program is affiliated with a multi-facility health system serving patients throughout the greater Wilmington, NC region, with a daily census of approximately 50 patients across 8 rooms.
