Salary: $95,000 - $115,000 depending on experience

Gardner/Fox Associates is seeking an experienced Commercial Site Superintendent to join our construction team. The Superintendent will be responsible for day-to-day field leadership of commercial construction projects throughout the Philadelphia and surrounding suburban markets.

Gardner/Fox is an established, full-service design/build and construction management firm serving the region since 1987. Our commercial work includes laboratory and life science, healthcare, education, retail, office, institutional, and specialty construction projects.

Responsibilities

• Manage daily on-site construction activities from mobilization through project closeout.
• Coordinate and supervise subcontractors, vendors, deliveries, and field personnel.
• Maintain the project schedule and proactively identify potential delays or conflicts.
• Coordinate closely with the Project Manager, design team, Owner, and subcontractors.
• Review drawings and specifications and ensure work is completed in accordance with the contract documents.
• Plan short-term work activities and communicate upcoming requirements to subcontractors.
• Monitor workmanship and maintain project quality standards.
• Manage site logistics, access, temporary protection, and occupied-facility considerations.
• Conduct regular safety meetings and enforce company and project safety requirements.
• Coordinate inspections, testing, punch list, commissioning, and project closeout.
• Maintain accurate daily reports, progress photographs, and field documentation.
• Assist with constructability reviews and resolution of field conditions.

Qualifications

• 5+ years of experience as a Superintendent or Assistant Superintendent on commercial construction projects.
• Strong knowledge of commercial building systems, construction sequencing, and subcontractor coordination.
• Ability to read and interpret architectural, structural, and MEP drawings and specifications.
• Strong organizational, communication, and leadership skills.
• Ability to manage multiple trades and maintain schedule accountability.
• Experience working in occupied facilities, laboratories, healthcare, education, or other technically demanding environments is a plus.
• OSHA 30 certification preferred.
• Familiarity with Procore, Bluebeam, Microsoft Project, and related construction management technology is beneficial.
• Valid driver's license and reliable transportation required.
