Accounts Payable Specialist

Woodland is seeking a detail-oriented individual with strong analytic and accounting abilities who applies sound, independent judgment across a variety of tasks. A successful candidate is a reliable professional who is collaborative, organized, and able to prioritize and juggle many tasks simultaneously.

The A/P Specialist reports to the Chief Financial Officer. S/he is part of the team responsible for the school's general accounting function and oversight of internal controls. Responsibilities include:

Minimum Qualifications (Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities)

We seek a dynamic individual who works collaboratively and creatively with colleagues. The minimum requirement for candidates is a Bachelor's Degree, preferably in Accounting or Finance.

• Minimum of two years' experience in bookkeeping and/or accounting and finance, preferably in accounts payable and payroll processing
• Proficiency with QuickBooks
• Non-Profit/Independent School sector experience preferable
• Solid knowledge and understanding of accounting principles required
• Highly detail oriented, well-organized, flexible, and collaborative individual
• Common sense, professional decorum, and clear and concise communication skills are critical due to regular interaction with parents, faculty and administrators.
• Proficient in Microsoft Office, especially Excel and Word.
• Experience with Google Workspace including Google Sheets.

Compensation

The hourly range is between $30 and $35/hr depending on qualifications and experience, excellent benefits, 401K employer contribution of 5% after one year of employment, $1000 wellness stipend, and generous professional development program.
