Make an impact this school year by supporting students in a meaningful contract role as a School Psychologist working with middle schoolers (grades 6–8). Located near Elgin, IL, this full-time opportunity is designed for professionals who thrive in a school-based setting and are passionate about guiding students through important developmental years.
Key Qualifications:
- Valid School Psychologist licensure for Illinois, or eligibility to obtain
- Proven experience or training in conducting student re-evaluations
- Strong knowledge of assessment tools, child development, and special education laws (IDEA, Section 504)
- Ability to effectively collaborate with teachers, families, and other support staff
- Excellent communication, organizational, and report-writing skills
- Adaptable, with a positive attitude toward supporting diverse student needs
Primary Responsibilities:
- Manage a middle school caseload (6th–8th grade), focusing primarily on re-evaluations for approximately 35–70 students
- Conduct comprehensive psychoeducational assessments in compliance with federal and state guidelines
- Interpret evaluation results to drive appropriate interventions or recommendations for IEP and 504 teams
- Participate in multidisciplinary meetings, providing guidance and support to address student academic, behavioral, and emotional needs
- Maintain thorough records and documentation as required by school policies
- Serve as a resource for staff and families on educational supports, mental health, and social-emotional learning
