Host/Hostess Position at The Highlands at Harbor Springs

The Highlands at Harbor Springs is seeking friendly, dependable, and guest-focused individuals to join our team as a Host/Hostess. Available positions include full-time and part-time seasonal opportunities.

As a Host/Hostess, you are often the first point of contact for our guests and play an important role in creating a welcoming, memorable experience. You will greet guests with warmth and professionalism, assist with seating and reservations, and help ensure the smooth operation of our dining areas.

The ideal candidate is a team player who takes initiative, communicates effectively, pays attention to detail, and is willing to step in wherever needed to support the team. Weekend and holiday availability is required.

Responsibilities:

• Create a positive impression for our guests by welcoming them with a smile and eye contact. Engage the guest in conversation and encourage them to return.
• Answer telephone and respond appropriately.
• Take delivery and To-Go orders.
• Handle payment transactions.
• Communicate with the kitchen regarding the number of reservations, large groups, and current seating pace.
• Ensure that guests have an enjoyable dining experience by providing quality guest service.
• Set up or restock product and service items.
• Take out the garbage and wipe down counters and equipment.
• Respond promptly and courteously to any customer requests.
• Assist fellow team members as needed.
• Answer questions about our food, beverages, and other restaurant functions and services.
• Communicates absences and schedule changes promptly.
• Perform side work at the start and end of each shift as required by service station assignment.

Qualifications:

• Must have SafeServ Certification or be able to obtain one after being hired
• Prior Experience with Point-of-Sale system preferred but not required
• Must be able to work in a fast-paced environment while standing for long hours on your feet.
• Must be able to lift up to 25 pounds
