Retail Sales Associate

The Retail Sales Associate interacts and assists customers, donors and others with merchandise selection, suggestion selling and cashiering in a courteous and professional manner. Pay rate: $17.99/hour.

Essential functions and responsibilities include: proactively acknowledging, greeting and helping customers in any area of the store; assisting customers/donors in a timely and courteous manner by answering questions or directing them to a supervisor; handling cash, checks, and credit card transactions, closing out cash drawer and balancing all point of sale (POS) transactions; communicating through standard telephone and wireless audio systems; merchandising, restocking and providing general floor maintenance where needed; maintaining a clean work environment; supporting team members, assisting supervisors and leads when necessary; building and maintaining internal and external customer satisfaction; contributing to team effort by accomplishing related results as needed; demonstrating safe work practices through awareness and observation in support of a safety culture; and performing other duties as assigned.

Position requirements include: high school graduate or equivalency preferred, but not required; no experience required; ability to learn new technology and software as related to the job; no certificates, licenses, or registrations required; physical abilities include lifting and carrying up to 30 pounds, standing for long periods, frequent bending, kneeling, reaching, stooping, squatting, pushing, climbing ladders, and able to travel across a variety of surfaces; essential mental/sensory abilities include organizing, sorting, categorizing, counting, adding, subtracting, interpreting data, problem solving, communicating with the public, verbal and written communication skills; work environment includes retail store environment, temperature varies, loud noises, occasional crowds, exposure to dust.
