About the Role

We're looking for a dedicated, proactive Customer Service Representative / Receptionist to be the first point of contact for our tenants. You'll spend much of your day on the phone, answering questions, resolving concerns, and keeping tenants informed, while supporting our leasing and property management teams with day-to-day office tasks. This role is ideal for someone who enjoys talking with people, stays calm under pressure, and takes pride in solving problems.

Responsibilities

Tenant Relations & Customer Service

• Serve as the primary point of contact for tenants, answering phone calls, emails, and inquiries throughout the day
• Resolve tenant concerns promptly and professionally, escalating to management when needed
• Keep tenants updated on maintenance and property matters
• Provide exceptional service to every tenant, with empathy and care
• Help organize tenant events and support a positive tenant experience

Operations & Coordination

• Coordinate with maintenance and property management teams to make sure service requests are completed on time
• Log tenant interactions and issues accurately in our property management software
• Assist with leasing, renewals, move-ins, and move-outs
• Support the Leasing Manager with apartment showings and listing management, including scheduling, updating listings, and preparing units for tours
• Handle general office tasks such as mail, filing, and organization

Qualifications

• Previous customer service experience, preferably in property management or real estate
• Comfort handling a high volume of phone calls throughout the day
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
• Ability to handle difficult conversations with professionalism and empathy
• Strong organizational and problem-solving skills
• Ability to work independently and as part of a team
• Valid driver's license and auto insurance
• Preferred, but not required: AppFolio experience, knowledge of California/local housing laws, and bilingual ability

Schedule & Work Environment

• Full-time, 40–45 hours per week, five days per week
• Typical schedule is Monday-Friday (some flexibility on other days)
• Primarily office-based, with occasional local travel between properties

Compensation

$22–$24 per hour, depending on experience
