Job Title: Contamination Control Technician

Location: Fairport, NY

Duration: 12 months with possibility of extension

Shift: Monday through Friday, 8:00am to 5:00pm

A global materials science manufacturer whose Fairport operation makes precision optics and non contact metrology instruments for the semiconductor industry, including optics used in wafer and mask inspection and in lithography systems. The site has been through a major recent expansion tied to domestic semiconductor manufacturing investment. Work happens in and around tightly controlled clean spaces.

Top 3 Skills

• Cleanroom contamination monitoring and sampling, covering airborne and surface particulates, organic and inorganic contamination, and ultrapure water.
• Inspection, testing, and certification of clean benches, clean enclosures, ionizing guns and bars, and ultrasonic and megasonic units.
• Contamination control documentation, calibration coordination, and cleanroom protocol auditing.

What You'll Do

• Run scheduled sampling across designated areas and equipment: airborne and surface particulates, airborne and surface organic and inorganic contamination, and ultrapure water
• Order exposure kits and coordinate sampling locations
• Inspect, clean, and test ionizing guns and bars
• Monitor the power and frequency of ultrasonic and megasonic units
• Certify clean benches, clean enclosures, and similar controlled spaces as needed
• Record results and file reports into the designated repositories
• Maintain contamination control documentation and help coordinate calibration of all instrumentation used in these activities
• Support all cleanrooms and clean spaces, including garment supply and rotation
• Run cleanroom protocol audits
• Communicate any nonconforming activity or condition to the Contamination Control engineer

What We Need From You

• U.S. citizen or U.S. national. This is an ITAR facility and DOD-ITAR compliance is mandatory
• AS or AAS in an applicable technical field
• Fundamental knowledge of standard electronic equipment and general troubleshooting
• Able to collect, interpret, chart, and report data accurately and consistently
• Able to work in full cleanroom garments and follow written protocols exactly as documented

Preferred / Bonus

• Cleanroom protocol experience, particularly in semiconductor environments
• Experience with process monitoring or environmental monitoring programs
• Familiarity with particle counters, ultrapure water sampling, or surface contamination testing
• Experience coordinating instrument calibration schedules
• IEST or comparable contamination control training
