Global Adhesive Engineering Leader - Digital Transformation

Define and execute the engineering strategy for DuPont’s automotive and advanced mobility structural adhesives portfolio, including BETATECH™, BETAMATE™, BETAFORCE™, and BETASEAL™ technologies Serve as global technical authority for structural adhesives, vehicle body structures, crashworthiness, lightweighting, joint durability, and NVH performance Lead engineering strategy and technology development across the automotive structural adhesives portfolio Direct CAE and simulation capabilities, including material model development, verification, validation, and performance prediction Establish global mechanical and thermal characterization methods Own the engineering digital transformation strategy and roadmap, including AI/ML, physics-based modeling, and closed-loop CAE Lead collaboration with Digital R&D, Corporate IT, and engineering teams to deliver scalable digital solutions Establish governance, standards, KPIs, and data management practices for predictive engineering Partner with Finance, Legal, and IT to deliver business outcomes while protecting intellectual property, data integrity, and regulatory compliance Lead, develop, and inspire a global engineering team across the Americas, EMEA, and APAC Establish objectives, development plans, and succession strategies Build digital and data-driven competencies across the engineering organization Serve as a trusted technical partner to global automotive OEMs and Tier suppliers Lead customer technical engagement, validation, CAE collaboration, and product approval activities Represent DuPont through industry engagement, technical leadership, and customer-facing innovation Deliver business value through accelerated development timelines, engineering efficiency, revenue growth, and customer retention Lead strategic investment planning for the global Engineering Center of Excellence Identify and develop engineering and digital opportunities supporting long-term growth and technology leadership Requirements Ph.D. in Mechanical Engineering, Engineering Mechanics, Materials Science, or a related technical discipline required; candidates with an M.S. degree and significant relevant industry experience will be considered 15+ years of progressive experience in structural adhesives, polymers, or automotive materials Demonstrated experience leading global technical teams Expertise in CAE/FEA, material modeling, mechanical testing, and durability characterization Proven success leading global technical organizations and developing high-performing engineering teams Experience working directly with automotive OEMs in a senior technical or customer-facing leadership capacity Experience leading large-scale digital, engineering, or data-driven transformation initiatives through cross-functional teams Preferred expertise in crashworthiness, lightweighting, vehicle body structures, and durability, fatigue, and fracture performance Experience applying AI/ML, physics-based modeling, or data-driven engineering approaches to product development Knowledge of engineering data platforms, materials informatics, and structured data governance Six Sigma Black Belt, Design of Experiments (DOE), or equivalent process-improvement certification preferred Experience supporting EV battery assembly, structural bonding, and next-generation mobility applications Professional visibility through industry organizations, technical publications, patents, or conference presentations Core Competencies Demonstrates expertise in structural adhesives, CAE/FEA, and digital transformation strategies, with a strong focus on leading global technical teams and driving innovation in automotive materials.
