About the Position

Job Title: Emergency Room Nurse Profession: RN Specialty: Emergency Room Duration: 13 weeks Shift: Night Hours per Shift: 12.5 Experience: 2 years of emergency nursing experience License: RN License Certifications: AHA Certified BLS, ACLS & PALS, NRP & TNCC certifications preferred Must-Have: General Emergency Department nursing skills, including assessment, documentation, IV, phlebotomy, EKG, cardiac monitoring, point of care testing, splinting, critical thinking, and patient education Description: This position is for an Emergency Department RN working 36 or 48 hours on nights and every other weekend. The unit features a 65-bed emergency department with a pod-based layout, including a separate pediatric pod and an acute mental health area. The average census is approximately 230 visits per day. The clinician to patient ratio is 1:4. The patient population includes all ages and types of emergencies. Floating to the ED Observation wing and the Acute Mental Health Unit may be required. Rotating shifts may be requested, but the night position does not rotate. Familiarity with the EPIC ASAP electronic medical record system is required. Candidates must possess strong critical thinking and patient education skills.
