Route Specialist

Description The Relief Specialist is responsible for providing essential support across multiple areas within the Credit Union, including Teller, Vault Teller, Lead Teller, and Member Services. This role ensures that Credit Union branches operate smoothly by filling in for staff in various functions as needed. The Relief Specialist serves as a primary point of contact for members, delivering exceptional service, addressing inquiries, resolving issues, and assisting with financial transactions. The position requires flexibility, a thorough understanding of Credit Union services, and the ability to adapt to different roles as needed. Essential Functions and Supporting Duties Serves as a liaison between members and the credit union by greeting and welcoming members and visitors professionally and promptly, providing information on membership eligibility, account types, loan products, and other services offered. Responds to members’ requests, problems, and concerns, directing them to the appropriate personnel when necessary, and provides information in‑person, via email, written correspondence, or telephone regarding credit union services or policies. Opens new accounts and answers queries regarding existing accounts, assists members in selecting the best account options, and processes loan requests, including first and second mortgage applications, reviewing approvals, advising on Loan Protection Products, and quoting total loan payments. Accurately processes member transactions—including deposits, withdrawals, loan payments, and negotiable instruments—by ensuring all cash handling and financial transactions are performed with precision, inspecting and verifying cash, and balancing at the end of the day while maintaining a clean, organized, and secure work area. Cross‑sells other products and services by listening to members’ needs, anticipating future requirements, and informing them of additional offerings. Qualifications Required Education: A high school degree or equivalent. Required Experience: Cash handling and customer service experience; financial transaction processing. Preferred Experience: Financial transaction processing or banking experience. Other Requirements Must provide personal transportation for employment purposes, travel to all Credit Union locations, maintain automobile insurance, hold a valid driver’s license, and maintain a good driving record as required by the Department of Motor Vehicles.
