• Experience with Trauma Level II is required.
• Experience in acute hospital settings preferred.
• Ability to float to like units as needed based on facility requirements.

Description:

The Sterile Processing Technician is responsible for the decontamination, preparation, and sterilization of surgical instruments and equipment. The technician will ensure proper processing of instruments and maintenance of sterile supplies. Knowledge of high-level disinfection and immediate-use steam sterilization is essential. Experience with scope/probe reprocessing and the proper selection of wrapping materials is required. The role involves assembling and organizing instrument trays for various surgical procedures. Experience with chemical agents for decontamination and proper labeling of instruments is necessary. The technician will document equipment usage and ensure compliance with sterilization standards. Strong attention to detail and effective communication skills are important for success in this position. The position requires a commitment to maintaining a safe and sterile environment for patient care. Flexibility to adapt to changing priorities and unit needs is essential.
