The Heritage Center is seeking a Full-Time and Part-Time Housekeeper!

This candidate will perform daily and scheduled housekeeping of apartments. This includes mopping, vacuuming, wall washing, dusting and other typical housekeeping tasks while working closely with the residents.

Duties and Responsibilities:

• Use of housekeeping equipment such as mops and vacuums required for the cleaning and general maintenance of floors, walls, carpets and furniture.
• Empty waste baskets, dust furniture and fixtures. Wash inside of windows.
• Prepare vacated apartments for use.
• Clean and disinfect restrooms, including bath/shower area.
• Clean kitchen area. Clean and disinfect sink and countertop area, defrost freezer.
• Clean and vacuum hall and common areas.
• Must be able to stoop, lift, bend and carry self safely. Also be able to climb small ladder and/or stool.
• Perform additional duties as specified by director.
• Must maintain privacy and confidentiality in a professional and respectful manner at all times.
• At beginning of shift. Review commutations book, notes, and memos for any changes or concerns on your assignment.
• Adhere to policy and procedures regarding infection control, and safety practices.
• Practices effective communication techniques with residents, families, and co-workers.
• Provides information regarding changes in resident and/or problem areas to supervisor.
• Respects resident rights: ie: right to choose, knock on door, address resident by name, and maintain privacy.
• Reports to the Executive Director and performs additional duties asked.

Position Qualifications:

• Understand and follow written and oral instructions
• Must have good judgment and initiative

Physical Qualifications:

• Must be able to meet the physical requirements of the job. The minimum requirements include:
• Must be able to satisfactorily complete a two-step physical evaluation (see attached).
• Standing at least 90% of your shift
• Must be able to operate the necessary equipment, using proper body mechanics.
• Must be able to pass a visual acuity test.
• Must be able to use chemicals and cleaning products required to perform the job duties.
• Must be able to speak and hear in a manner understood by most peers.
