A Critical Care Paramedic is an integral part of the primary care team during ambulance transports. You are responsible for providing direct patient care, medical transport, performing equipment checks and maintenance, as well as handling station upkeep and housekeeping duties, along with other related tasks as needed.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities:

• Primary duty is administering life support treatments within the Critical Care Paramedic scope
• Safely operating and maintaining emergency vehicles in compliance with laws.
• Delivering competent patient care in various settings.
• Applying EMS procedures in practical situations.
• Interacting professionally with healthcare personnel.
• Documenting information accurately in our charting system.
• Assisting fellow EMS providers and providing comprehensive reports.
• Maintaining equipment, ensuring cleanliness, and restocking supplies.
• Adhering to company and local agency policies and protocols.
• Demonstrating a clean appearance and professional, ethical behavior.
• Maintain clear and consistent communications with the Dispatch Center.
• May be required to administer first aid to injured coworkers when necessary.

Qualifications:

• High school diploma or GED equivalent required
• Previous EMT experience
• Current Paramedic license and Critical Care Paramedic certification/licence (state specific)
• In states without mandatory Critical Care Transport requirements, must hold and maintain national board certification as a Critical Care Paramedic (e.g., CCP-C from IBSC or equivalent)
• Current CPR
• Valid driver's license and good driving record
• Strong clinical knowledge and decision-making skills
• Good communication, interpersonal skills and emotional stability

Physical Demands:

• Ability to safely operate EMS vehicles and essential equipment
• Bend, sit, kneel, and lift up to 125 lbs; push/pull objects over 50 lbs
• Maintain physical agility for safe patient handling in demanding environments
• Tolerate extended periods of driving or riding in an ambulance
• Perform effectively in physically strenuous and emotionally challenging situations
• Physically strenuous and can be emotionally challenging.
