Paramedic (Multiple Shifts Available) / Madison WI (On-Site)

Fortrea, a major clinical research organization, seeks a Paramedic for its Madison, Wisconsin Early Phase Clinical Research Unit. The role involves providing medical care and safety monitoring to healthy volunteer participants in Phase 1 drug trials, working within a collaborative clinical team environment.

Responsibilities

• Monitor participant safety and well-being under physician oversight; escalate concerns appropriately
• Deliver basic and advanced medical care to study participants in emergent and non-emergent situations
• Administer medications and treatments per investigator orders and study protocols
• Perform technical procedures including blood collection, vital signs, ECGs, and clinical assessments
• Document study procedures, adverse events, interventions, and clinical observations accurately

Requirements

• State license or certification as a Paramedic
• Advanced Cardiac Life Support (ACLS) certification
• High school diploma or equivalent
• Formal academic or vocational qualification in paramedic field
• Proficiency in airway management, IV establishment, and injections
• Minimum 2 years paramedic experience preferred
• Experience in clinical research, hospital, or emergency medical services preferred
