Paramedic (On-Call) / Madison, WI (On-Site)

Fortrea seeks an on-call paramedic for its Madison clinical research unit to provide medical oversight and safety monitoring for healthy volunteers in early-phase drug trials. The role involves delivering emergency and routine clinical care, documenting adverse events, and collaborating with physicians and research staff under defined scope of practice.

Responsibilities

• Monitor participant safety and well-being throughout clinical trial phases under physician oversight
• Provide basic and advanced medical care in emergent and non-emergent situations within scope of practice
• Document and report adverse events, escalating significant safety concerns to the investigator
• Perform protocol-required clinical activities including vital signs, ECGs, and blood collection
• Lead resuscitation efforts and stabilization for life-threatening situations following medical protocols

Requirements

• State paramedic license or certification required
• Advanced Cardiac Life Support (ACLS) certification required
• High school diploma or equivalent plus relevant formal qualification
• Proficiency in airway management, IV establishment, and subcutaneous injections
• Minimum 2 years paramedic experience preferred
• Experience in clinical research, emergency medical services, or healthcare setting preferred
• Strong verbal and written communication skills
