Sous Chef/Line Cook

Job Description

Spicy Affair Indian Cuisine is a local family owned restaurant in Swedesboro/Woolwich, NJ. Located in the historic old Swedesboro National Bank building in downtown Swedesboro.

The ideal candidate has a strong passion for culinary excellence and a keen eye for detail. You will assist the Executive Chef in providing exceptional food quality and presentation.

Responsibilities

Assist and work with the kitchen staff in all aspects of food production. Cutting, chopping raw food and follwoing recipes to finished dish prepration
Establish and maintain a regular maintenance schedule for all kitchen areas and equipment

Reviewing menus and food production instructions and preparing meals following restaurant menus and recipes while ensuring portion-control standards
Following restaurant sanitation standards by effectively cleaning while working, including preparation and serving areas, pots and pans, kitchen surfaces, walls, and floors, using appropriate cleaning schedules and charts
Food preparation and setup of dishes to serve food, attractively

Qualifications

2+ years' of culinary or kitchen experience
Excellent interpersonal and verbal communication skills
Highly organized with excellent attention to detail
Attention to cleanliness and detail
Team player
