Established (55+ Years) Premier AV-Rated Firm Seeking Family Law Litigation Attorney in Rockville, MD

An established Maryland-based law firm with over 55 years in practice is seeking a Family Law Litigation Attorney with 5-10 years of experience and a partial book of business to join its Rockville office. This is a high-volume, complex litigation role offering immediate responsibility, court appearances, and meaningful client interaction within a respected, full-service practice serving Maryland, D.C., and Virginia.

This position is ideal for a seasoned family law attorney who has an existing client base, values autonomy and courtroom exposure, and wants to continue growing their practice within a well-established firm that offers strong infrastructure, mentoring, and competitive benefits.

Offer:
Salary range: $140,000-$190,000+ depending on experience and portable business

Qualifications:
5-10 years of family law litigation experience
Maryland Bar admission in good standing
DC and Virginia Bar admission preferred
Demonstrated partial book of business or consistent personal client origination
Ability to bill approximately 1800 hours annually
Strong knowledge of family law procedures, litigation strategy, and court rules
Excellent research, drafting, and litigation skills
Strong written and verbal communication abilities
Ability to manage cases independently and prioritize workload effectively

Responsibilities:
Represent clients in divorce, custody, child support, spousal support, and property division matters
Manage and grow an existing book of family law business while supporting firm-wide client development efforts
Conduct legal research and draft pleadings, motions, discovery, and memoranda
Handle discovery, depositions, mediations, negotiations, and settlement discussions
Represent clients in hearings, trials, and court proceedings
Communicate with clients, opposing counsel, and court personnel while managing case files and calendars
Organize and maintain litigation documents and case materials - For this position, you must be currently authorized to work in the United States without the need for sponsorship for a non-immigrant visa.
