HVAC Field Specialist (Commercial) in Houston

Job Description Position Overview We are seeking a detail-oriented and self-motivated HVAC Field Specialist to join our team. This role is responsible for conducting on-site measurements, inspections, and evaluations to support the accurate manufacturing and installation of HVAC curb adapters. This position serves as a critical link between the field and the Engineering team, ensuring jobsite conditions are accurately captured and translated into production-ready information. The ideal candidate has hands‑on HVAC or mechanical experience, strong problem‑solving skills, and the ability to operate independently in a fast‑paced environment. This role requires regular travel, rooftop work, and close collaboration with Engineering, Manufacturing, and Operations. Key Responsibilities Conduct accurate field measurements of rooftop units and curbs to support custom fabrication Assess job site conditions and verify compatibility of replacement rooftop units (RTUs) Document field data using photos, sketches, and measurement tools Communicate job‑specific information clearly and accurately to Engineering and Production teams Provide on‑site technical support and guidance to contractors as needed Adhere to all safety standards while working at heights and in outdoor environments Travel regularly to commercial job sites; overnight travel may be required Assist in troubleshooting and resolving field or installation‑related issues Engineering & Office Support (When Not in Field) Support Engineering with layout drawings, measurement validation, and production coordination Input and organize field measurements into internal systems Assist with translating field data into usable information for fabrication and design Utilize basic computer tools to support documentation, layout coordination, and internal workflows Requirements High school diploma or GED required Experience in HVAC, mechanical systems, construction, or related field Familiarity with rooftop HVAC systems and curb adapters Ability to read and interpret mechanical drawings and site plans Basic computer proficiency required (email, data entry, basic layout support) Strong communication and documentation skills Ability to work independently and manage time effectively Comfortable working at heights and in outdoor environments Valid driver’s license and insurable driving record Ability to lift up to 50 lbs and safely use ladders and safety equipment Qualifications 1+ years of HVAC or field service experience Experience with AutoCAD, Revit, or similar tools OSHA 10 or OSHA 30 certification Strong attention to detail and problem‑solving mindset Travel, Vehicle & Expenses This position requires regular travel to job sites A company vehicle will be provided Vehicle reimbursement is not applicable A company credit card will be issued for business‑related travel expenses Expense management is handled through Accounts Payable as part of onboarding Work Environment This is a field‑based role involving rooftop work, travel, and varying outdoor conditions. The HVAC Field Specialist operates independently while maintaining strong communication with internal teams.
