Anesthesiology - Physician

Michael E. DeBakey VA Medical Center is seeking a Physician - Anesthesiologist to join their Anesthesiology Care Line. The Anesthesiologist will provide a complete range of anesthetic care of patients including preoperative assessment, intraoperative anesthetic administration and monitoring, and post-anesthesia care, in compliance with national (JCAHO) accreditation standards. The Anesthesiologist will perform pre-anesthetic evaluations, collaborate with the interdisciplinary team to prepare the anesthesia plan, deliver all forms of anesthesia, and provide intra- and post-operative care to patients. As part of "Code Blue" Team, provide emergency airway and resuscitation management throughout the facility and establish an effective working relationship with all levels of staff throughout the Michael E. DeBakey VA Medical Center. Work Schedule : Monday - Friday, 7:00am - 3:30pm Qualifications: * Must be a U.S. Citizen (*If no qualified U.S. Citizen is found, will consider non- citizen candidates*) * Full and unrestricted license from any U.S. State * Board Certified or Board Eligible in Anesthesia (Preferred) * Experience working with trainees (anesthesia residents and student nurse anesthetists * Experience working in a collaborative team model of anesthesia care (Preferred) * Ability to perform the clinical and technical aspects of anesthesia care and has in-depth knowledge of anesthesia methods and techniques (Preferred) We offer: * Starting salary of $350k-$400k * CME: $1,000 per year stipend for reimbursement; 5 Days paid CME absence * Malpractice: Liability protection * 50-55 days of annual paid time offer per year (26 days of annual leave, 13 days of sick leave, 11 paid Federal holidays per year and possible 5 day paid absence for CME) * Federal Retirement Plan * Separate 401K with partial agency match * Health, Dental & Vision Insurance Houston, TX, is a beautiful place to live and work.
