Job Summary:

The Patient Transporter is responsible for safely transporting patients throughout the hospital or healthcare facility using wheelchairs, stretchers, or hospital beds. This role ensures patient comfort, safety, and timely transportation to appointments, procedures, testing areas, and discharge locations while maintaining professionalism and excellent customer service.

Key Responsibilities:

• Safely transport patients throughout the hospital using wheelchairs, stretchers, or hospital beds
• Assist patients in and out of transport equipment while ensuring comfort, dignity, and safety
• Support nursing staff with patient movement and transport requests in a timely manner
• Transport patients to various departments, including radiology, surgery, therapy, testing areas, and discharge locations
• Follow all hospital safety procedures, HIPAA regulations, and infection control protocols
• Maintain cleanliness and sanitation of transport equipment
• Communicate professionally with patients, visitors, nurses, and hospital staff

Qualifications:

• Strong customer service and communication skills
• Ability to stand and walk for extended periods throughout the shift
• Ability to safely push wheelchairs, stretchers, and hospital beds
• Ability to work in a fast-paced healthcare environment
• Professional demeanor and compassionate attitude toward patients
• Previous hospital or healthcare experience preferred but not required
• Ability to follow instructions, policies, and safety procedures accurately
