Downs Blvd Suite 302 Wesley Chapel Fl 33544ResponsibilitiesFront OfficePerforms start up duties prior to opening labAdds tests for add-ons and handles recollectsProperly charges STATs to HMO'sCopies insurance cardsUses proper stamps on orders such as FROZEN, Labcorp, QuestPrints daily logsDispenses petty cashFaxes reports from previous dayHandling of drug screens collectionsQuotes lab pricesMakes depositsPrint labels for requisitions and specimensProperly obtains ABN forms for Medicare patientsObtains orders from Intergy or patientsObtains and uses valid diagnosis codesProperly identification of patientsCollects any monies from patients and issue receiptsChallenges ambiguous orders and handles according to protocol, and taking takes verbal ordersVerify patient insurance informationProvide services for patients and doctors offices such as lab resultsDirects incoming faxes to correct personnelAnswers phone and assists callers, properly transfers callsProperly calls or faxes any panic or stat results to appropriate provider per written protocolPerforming tasks with minimal errorsUnderstands and has the know how to perform assigned tasksAbility to master and understand new work routines in this areaDegree and willingness to put forth in performing these tasksPhlebotomyProperly identifies patient at draw pointVerify orders and requisitions match, checking all testsUses proper phlebotomy techniqueEnsures ABN is properly filled out and signedUses Personal Protective Equipment when performing venipunctureProperly prepares specimen for transportLabels specimens properlySupplies proper information on requisitions pertaining to draw such as Date, time, initials, number and type of tubes drawnProperly interprets ordersAble to draw 6 patients an hour (35 to 40 patients per day)Rarely needs a butterfly to draw patients. (Ask assistance before using a butterfly)Keeps requisitions filed in folder and assists with preparing the folders for scanningProvides phlebotomy services to doctor's offices when needed such as Special Procedures and Family PracticeBack OfficePrepares reports for distributionLoads any specimens passed throughSupplies missing billing information such diagnosis to remote labsWorks internal billing charges, no more than 3 days' behindKeeps daily requisitions filed correctly and neatlyWorks outstanding tests report for Labcorp and QuestWorks error logs for Labcorp and QuestRetrieves results and transmit requisitions when neededDirects incoming mail to correct personnelPerforms mail-outs daily, obtaining correct addresses for outside providersProcessing SpecimensProperly spin down specimens when needed, checking for fibrinogen and clotsPour off any specimens needed for special transport tubesPrepare specimens for transportation with couriersProperly file daily requisitionsPull blood for any add on testingDistributes and handles STATs according to protocolPerforms "Clean-outs" in Flex-e SuiteKeeps accurate Inventory of suppliesChecks and monitors supply levels weekly, not running outOrders supplies on a scheduled routine basis such as monthlyDistributes supplies to remote labs such as in-house tubesDistributes supplies to patients with instructionsKeeps supply area neat and clutter freeComputer UtilizationKnows how to look up results and print in Intergy, Flex-e Suite, LCMKnows how to print patient demographic sheets and insurance cardsCan load insurances into Intergy and set proper coverageCreate requisitions in Clinicians for Labcorp, Quest, LISCan perform Result retrieval and transmissionsAble to print billing report or work lists for STAT, MAIL, and Fax logsPerforms "Clean-outs" in Flex-e SuiteAble to register a new patient in Intergy or make changes to existing informationProperly loads drug studiesMaintains reasonably regular, punctual attendance consistent with Orlando Health policies, the ADA, FMLA, and other federal, state, and local standards. Maintains compliance with all Orlando Health policies and procedures. Performs all other duties as assigned.
