Come join us and make a meaningful impact on the community you serve.Garden State Veterinary Services in Woodbridge, NJ is excited to announce we are looking for instrument technicians to join their specialty/emergency hospital.We are a multispecialty practice with boarded specialists in cardiology, internal medicine, surgery, radiology, and critical care. Our clients and patients also have access to ophthalmology, oncology, radiation oncology, dermatology, and radioactive iodine treatment via our affiliated practice in Eatontown, NJ. We are proud of our company culture and positive staff engagement within a fast-paced, learning environment; and our associate employment longevity is proof of our commitment to take care of one another, and provide the highest standard of care to the patients we serve.Instrument Technicians at GSVS – Woodbridge work alongside veterinary technicians, emergency doctors, and veterinary specialists, ensuring that all instruments used for surgical procedures are clean and sterilized, operating rooms and surgery treatment area are clean and ready for use. Your role specifically ensures the safety and efficiency of surgical operations. On any given day, you can expect to do the following as an Instrument Technician:Monitor surgery schedule to ensure all necessary equipment will be available to the surgery team that day.Prepare OR for surgery; select appropriate packs, instruments, and materials for the procedure being performedTake patients to and from surgery as requestedClean surgical instruments after surgery, to include use of the ultrasonic cleaner and instrument milkWrap surgical packs, extra instruments, and other materials for sterilizationUse of the autoclave and gas sterilization machine and perform all routine maintenance (certification required for gas sterilizer, will provide training)Inform supervisor of any broken or damaged equipmentTake routine inventory of stockMaintain pack, instrument, and equipment listsRestock drawers, shelves, surgery and refill alcohol and scrub containerClean after any procedures in the Radiology area, keep protective gear hung up and cleanGeneral cleaning, sanitizing, trash removalCheck to see that all animals have food and water (unless medically withheld), and are cleanClean cages and runs during the dayAssist other areas of the hospital, as needed.About you:At least 1 year of experience in a specialty veterinary hospital requiredTeam orientedMotivated self-starterDetail orientedSound problem solving abilitiesAbility to communicate with clients and all members of the veterinary teamPositive outlookExcellent organizational skillsHonesty, integrity, and a desire to have fun!Schedule: Sunday - Thursday 10am - 7pm OR Tuesday - Saturday 10am - 7pmBenefits:Health, dental, and vision insurance, with HSA option- some plans paid 100%Maternity/Paternity leaveRetirement Plan – 401K with employer matchEmployee Referral BonusPaid Time offMental health support with TalkspaceUniforms providedFull Time credentialed technicians eligible for Sign On BonusPet discounts for medical careGarden State Veterinary Services is located at 1200 Route 9, Woodbridge NJ 07095Veritas Veterinary Partners is an equal opportunity employer.
