Machinist I - Night Shift

Responsibilities Set up and operate a range of machines interconnected through robotics, including GM Fanuc Robots, machine centers, lathes, induction hardening units, direct hardening units, and grinders. Set up, use, and ensure calibration of precision measuring equipment such as calipers, micrometers, and lasers. Read and interpret blueprints to ensure product quality, including relating blueprint dimensions to CNC machine programs. Apply basic mathematics and trigonometry to machining operations. Handle micrometers, depth gauges, dial indicators, and specialty gauges such as hole location jigs, thread and plug gauges. Complete quality checks by following a control points plan that establishes quality control at the cell level. Ensure final product quality meets customer specifications by gauging parts, comparing to prints, and recording information as required. Perform all machine and robot setups, tooling and fixture alignments, with strong knowledge of horizontal machining centers, turning centers, saws, and robotics. Read and understand programming code for equipment and write recipes for robotic cells. Use programming knowledge to extend tooling life. Troubleshoot problems that arise during setups. Basic Qualifications 1 year of manufacturing experience. 1 year of machining experience. 1 year of CNC experience. Intermediate proficiency in blueprint reading. Experience using precision measurement tools such as micrometers and calipers. Additional Information Starting pay rate: $20.90 per hour with a $1.00 night shift premium. Night shift schedule: Monday through Thursday, 8:00 pm to 6:00 am. Successful candidates must be able to work overtime, including weekends. Benefits Summary 401(k) plan with company matching.
