Job Title: Registered Nurse Profession: Nursing Specialty: Orthopedics Duration: 13 weeks Shift: Night Hours per Shift: 12 Experience: Minimum of 2 years required License: Active nursing license required Certifications: BLS required, ACLS preferred Must-Have: - Orthopedic and Trauma experience required - Experience with elective and trauma patient care - Familiarity with Safe Patient Handling equipment Description: The position requires experience in pre-operative and post-operative orthopedic care. Candidates should be proficient in managing total hip, knee, and shoulder replacements and repairs. Knowledge of orthopedic trauma is essential. The nurse-patient ratio is 1:6, with potential stretches to 1:7. Mandatory compliance with an EKG exam is required for all registered nurses. Flexibility with scheduling is crucial due to a strict policy on tardiness and unexcused absences. Applicants should have experience using electronic medical records systems, specifically EPIC. Clinical skills in several areas are required, including hemodialysis management, wound care, and telemetry. Collaboration with interdisciplinary teams will be part of the role. The role may require traveling to various campuses when needed. Championship in patient care and adherence to safety protocols is a fundamental part of this position.
