Our factory in Ponchatoula is the 2nd-largest manufacturer of Valentine boxed chocolate in North America.• Cigna medical plans for the entire family• Monthly employee appreciation events• Free chocolate• T-Shirt Uniforms• Generally 60% of Temporary Associates find permanent jobs at Elmer's!Basic Responsibilities:Unloading of raw materials and finished productsFill orders for customersQuality control of received and produced itemsOperate forkliftOperate manual and electric pallet jackLoad and unload materials onto or off pallets, skids, or lifting deviceComplete receiving/order documentation including recording, weighing, labelingKeeps shipping/receiving area cleanRequired Qualifications:Must be 18 years oldPass a drug screenMust be able to qualify for & pass forklift certification courseMust be able to pass a general math assessment related to calculating inventoryHigh School education or GEDReliable transportationDependable attendance and ability to work overtimeAbility to follow & read instructionsAbility to work overtime and weekends as neededReading, interpreting signs and short correspondence, shipping documents, and memosBasic math skills, adding, subtracting, multiplying and dividing in all units of measure, using whole numbers, common fractions, and decimalsAbility to stand & walk for 12 hours+.Ability to sit, stoop, bend, kneel, reach, crouch, crawl, use force, carry, & push/pullAbility to lift < 50 lbs. occasionallyAbility to apply manual dexterity and specified visual acuityAbility to hear and speakSome areas require PPE & may cause occasional exposure to higher temperaturesElmer Chocolate is committed to providing equal employment opportunity to all employees and applicants for employment without regard to any protected class status.
